Business Analyst – Securities Finance - Risk and PnL - London - Contract - up to £800/day (inside IR35)
My client, a global bank based in London, is looking for a Business Analyst to join their Securities Financing team to work on Risk & PnL. The work will span various projects including PRA commitments re Intraday risk management, and front-office cross-asset risk requirements
The key activities of this role will be gathering and analysing data in order to increase understanding of Securities Financing Risk & PnL, to ensure that designs and solutions delivered will be effective.
Responsibilities:
· Build an understanding of the regulatory drivers, the Securities Financing Platform, and the front-to-back system flows within the Risk & PnL space
· Working with the experienced Risk & PnL Product Owner, use this understanding to deliver accurate, insightful and timely data analysis which will lead to appropriate designs and solutions being delivered to the Securities Financing business
· Work closely with other Risk & PnL Business Analysts in other asset-classes and programmes (e.g. the FRTB programme) to ensure best practice is established and any opportunity for reuse of approaches / data is taken
· Solutions delivered must successfully balance tactical vs strategic / cost-benefit / time-to-market etc. and the data analysis delivered should inform this decision making
· The role requires excellent communication with stakeholders who will require a succinct summary of progress, along with timely and accurate communication of the challenges and issues that are encountered
Key skills and experience
· Business Analyst experience (at least 5 years’ relevant experience in Global Markets Risk & PnL environment), ideally in Equities but cross-asset also an advantage
· Evidence of a successful track record delivering high quality data business analysis within a Global Markets environment
· Knowledge of Securities Financing would be advantageous
· Experience of facilitating data driven decision making, ideally in an Agile environment
· Experience of delivering both technology and non-technology change
· Excellent analytical skills
· Good understanding of business analysis best practice, methodologies and the project lifecycle
· Good written and communication skills and ability to operate at multiple levels
· Bachelor's or equivalent University degree
