Description:
Our client, a major global bank, is looking for a Workstream Lead to support a significant transformation of their Risk functions. This multi-year transformation aimed at fundamentally transforming and modernising the bank's approach to managing financial risk.
The successful candidate will have responsibility within the IFRS9 Workstream for delivery of the future Wholesale Impairment model with more Real Time simulations, scenario expansions and 'what-if' capabilities.
Responsibilities:
To design and deliver solutions on a number of initiatives including:
New model build requirements, desktop ECL calculations and Web-design tools, to enhance the delivery capability in Wholesale credit risk.
Delivery for simulation tools (Python or other similar technologies) and further integration of the wider system architecture for IFRS9.
Build simulation/scenario expansion models in line with the requirements of Forward Economic Guidance library and manage that transition to BAU.
Creating a library of key economic shocks required to generate a scenario, eg assumptions around monetary policy, commodity and interest rate and other asset price shocks.
Support management and audit review of scenarios generation team set up, ensuring that the documentation on scenario generation and models is created and fulfils the FIM requirements.
Assist with the creation & refinement of an economic scenario development process through involvement in the quarterly scenario generation cycle.
Ongoing model performance monitoring, review and challenge of scenario outcomes, documentation, etc.
Strategise and design the delivery of IFRS9 transformation relating to simulation and scenario generation.
Review and define innovative solutions to simplify the operating model and make the e2e process of scenario expansion and LIC simulations more efficient and leaner.
Work with the wider delivery team across Risk Transformation, Risk IT, Finance Change Delivery and other change delivery groups to deliver enhanced Simulation capabilities for IFRS9.
Build effective solutions with the business teams and related teams (Stress Testing, FCD, Risk IT, WMRT, GRA etc.)
Face off to business teams and ensuring all queries are resolved in a timely manner.
Coordinate and delegate tasks to onshore and offshore teams where needed.
Act as a SAS SME within the Wholesale credit risk function including management of new and existing development activities.
Act as a role model to achieve high standards and lead, develop, motivate and inspire high performance in others.
Deliver requirements against the objectives of Wholesale Credit Risk and understand the broader world of Credit and Market risk.
Interact with Regional and Group senior management on a daily basis, being a trusted partner.
Be the main point of contact in Wholesale Credit Risk for questions coming from local regions, other internal teams and regulators.
Requirements/Qualifications:
Understanding of Finance & Risk processes at a Global Bank
Awareness of IFRS9.
Understanding if credit risk models.
Understanding of econometric models for forecasting macroeconomic and financial variables required.
Proven SAS/Python advanced development experience.
Experience of managing/developing scale system changes with the SAS domain including big data.
Proven experience of using statistical analysis tools for large scale data manipulation and analysis eg SAS, Excel, SQL.
Ability to perform Datamodelling a distinct advantage.
Good interpersonal skills - ability to engage with stakeholders both business and technical.
